3. OEA ACTIONS FOR MARCH!
A number of actions are planned for March, and more may be coming.
The “sleeping giant” is awakening across the country and it is imperative
that all members stay informed and involved. Check the OEA website
frequently for updated information.
MARCH 14th RALLY IN SACRAMENTO
Despite OUSD’s back peddling on a united action, many individuals and
sites are planning to join their union brothers and sisters of the community
colleges to protest cuts to programs and services. Rally begins at 11:00 am
at the West Capitol steps.
MARCH 15TH RALLY TO SUPPORT OUR PINK-SLIPPED
MEMBERS
Rally at 4:00 pm at Oakland High, corner of Park Blvd. and MacArthur
to call attention to the 538 layoff notices issued by the district! Attend the
OEA RIF informational meeting, “Know Your Rights,” 4:30-6:30 pm in
the Oakland High Theater.
MARCH 26TH TOWN HALL ON EDUCATION
OEA members, parents, and the community will share their experiences and
present their solutions to Mayor Jean Quan, Superintendent Tony Smith, and
other elected officials.
